Mens Fitness And Weight Loss Tips

Friday, September 18th, 2009

If your looking for men’s weight loss tips your essentially going to be seeking advice on reducing your calorie intake, but at the same time you should be looking for meals that will keep you fuller for longer. One of the common myths however is that the “Burn – Baby – Burn” style of dieting through aerobic exercise such as a 10 km run will shred weight quicker than strength training down the gym.

Whilst aerobic exercise is an excellent cardiovascular work out, once you’ve finished your run or swim – this is when your metabolism stops.Strength training however whilst it implies that your simply transferring body fat into body mass, your metabolism continues to run well on after your work out, thus you will continue to burn more fat therefore lose weight quicker.

What will these questions do for YOU? Well, since I’ve lost 40 pounds in one summer they certainly worked for me. Why wouldn’t they work for you if you apply the exact same weight loss and diet plans that I used? Without those disgusting…painful…unhealthy pills that people somehow find the moral to sell.

I wouldn’t feed those to my dog. What they do is convince your body that it doesn’t need food. Basically painless starving. If you consistently continue to train your body in forgetting itself, how exactly is that going to help your success?

Is this program for you? The plans I’m about to reveal to you are weight loss plans for teenagers, mens weight loss plans and woman’s weight loss plans. With the exception of a few body parts we have very similar bodies that accept and reject the same foods. The body knows what is healthy for it and what isn’t and so do I.

Flexibility. Nutritionists say that weight loss plans need to be adjusted according to the age and the health status of the overweight person. For instance, mens weight loss diets should be totally different than womens diets. It’s normal for a man to eat different foods than a women does, and that’s a plus of the Acai Force Max program: it makes the difference between individuals.

One needs to feel full in order to allow the brain to focus on something else than eating. That study was about the Acai Force Max program, and it proved that 80% of the subjects were never hungry while following this weight loss program. I suppose that’s because of it’s high flexibility: what other weight loss plan allows you to eat pizza or desserts? Or to take a snack between the main meals? These are the main advantages of Acai Force Max, as I see them:

Acai Force Max is strong enough for a women but has been formulated to meet a mans needs. For a full report on Acai Force max please Visit Acai Force Max Review and to get your free trial for thirty days.

What to Expect from Weekly Personal Training Sessions

Friday, July 17th, 2009
by Amy Nutt

The first few weeks of a weekly exercise program is very exciting, but then many people find they are not accomplishing their goals as fast as they had hoped. Soon afterwards, the enthusiasm drops, results fade, and the confidence in acquire the goals and maintaining the end results diminishes.

The average person lasts for approximately six months before losing interest and dropping their routine. Fortunately, there are common factors and patterns to this decline in interest, so once you spot them, you can do something to keep yourself on track and motivated.

Make sure you are realistic about your goals and the time that will be needed to be committed to in order to maintain your routine. Allowing 3 workouts a week at a maximum of 60 minutes each is reasonable and be sure to factor in travel time (if working out at a gym) and shower time so that you are not finding yourself cutting corners due to running late. Get yourself into a routine /schedule when it comes to the days you workout. If a routine is set and adhered to, it will become more of an automatic action and will fit in as a regular part of your life.

There will be times you will not feel you have the energy to do your workout. Instead of skipping it, restructure that days routine by doing the exercises, but at a lower intensity or for only half the time. It may help to adjust your mealtimes as well; some find that if they are hungry or have just eaten they have too many distractions to want to exercise.

Finding an exercise buddy will help you stay motivated as well. You will offer support to each other and help the other stay on track on those days that you would rather just stay at home.

Expecting some physical discomfort is normal and common for most who workout weekly especially for the first weeks of your program. Your body is working to improve its strength and endurance so it needs time to adjust. Be sure that it is only discomfort and not actual pain. Pain tells you to stop what you are doing because something is wrong. If you are uncomfortable every time you workout try working a warm up and cool down session. A series of slow stretches and regulated breathing will help.

As your body feels as if it is leveling out and adapting to the level of effort made during the workout, increase the activity level by approximately 10% to help improve your fitness level and add variety to the routine. This will help to evade boredom.

If weight loss, as opposed to toning up, or building strength is you main goal, then being realistic is a key factor of your routine. Initially weight loss will be rapid, from not only increased activity, but from general changes in metabolism caused by changes in diet and water loss. Within a month most people level out in weight loss, and instead of achieving 5 to 8 pounds of loss in a week, they will lose 1 to 5 pounds. On average only 1 to 5 pounds a month will be accomplished after that. This occurs because the body has become use to the changes in other related habits, and also because muscle is now taking the place of some of the fat that has burned off. Muscle of course weighs more than fat and so the number of pounds being dropped will be lessened. Taking measurements may become a more effective means to calculate the success of your results from the workout if this aspect is important to you.

Ultimately, all of us are different and get various results from exercising weekly. It all depends on your current level of fitness, physical condition, receiving personal training, type of physical activity, and the time a person devotes to their workout routine. The important thing to remember is that realistic goals need to be set and if they cannot be met, then, instead of giving up, or throwing in the towel, simply revisit your workout routine and make revisions to help keep you active and motivated.

Reflexology is the practice of massage and, squeezing and pushing parts of the body to provide relief and stimulate other related organs. Reflexology rests on the theory that by manipulating certain points in the hands and feet it will provide relief to other organs in the body.

Reflexology is considered an alternative medical treatment. It is not known to have any side effects. It is used primarily for relaxing tension in the body. It stimulates and relax is the area where the pressure is applied. It also is believed to induce relaxation to other corresponding body parts.

Do Ab Cruncher Machines Work?

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009
by Tom Leverson

Do the abdominal cruncher machines you often see on TV actually work, is a commonly asked question. Yes and no is the answer to that. Although this may not sound, at first, useful, let me explain further.

These machines exercise the different layers of ab muscles. These appliances enable you to exercise the various parts of the ab muscles. The idea is that these machines will stimulate the abs muscles to enlarge. However, they will not necessarily give you a set of rippling, muscular, lean abs. The reason being is that to get a set of ripped abs you will need to get rid of that layer of fat tissue that overlays the abs.

Ab crunchers will not normally remove the fat focally over the abs. Performing hundreds or thousands of sit ups will not get rid of this layer of fat tissue for the exact same reason. The only way to do this is by lowering calorie intake and burning excess calories, therefore reducing fat content all over the body.

Adding an aerobic exercise regime to your exercise program is the most effective way to burn off these calories. Also, exercises that use the big muscles of the body such as the quadriceps are great at burning calories.

The quadriceps is the big muscles that lies at the top, on the front of the thigh. A good exercise to work the quadriceps is squats. The size of the large muscles means that they burn a lot of calories and generate a lot of heat. They also stimulate the body’s growth hormone secretion therefore encouraging muscle growth which is good for building those abdominal muscles.

Aerobic exercises include cycling, running and swimming. Performing these exercises over a longer period of time are ideal for burning fat. You will find using the machines at the gym will help you in keeping a steady pace.

These ab crunchers will, therefore, help you in getting a set of visible abdominal muscles but not without combining them with fat busting exercises. In as soon as 12 weeks you can see results if these measures are followed consistently.

Muscle Building Tips to Develop a Wide, Muscular Back

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009
by Ricardo d Argence

For most aspiring lifters, it’s all about building a huge chest and arms. Week after week they slave away on endless sets of bench presses and barbell curls in search of the rippling muscle gains they want so badly. Not surprisingly, those gains never appear in any significant form.

And if you are not training your back in the right way because that’s an area you cannot check in the mirror or because you think it’s just doesn’t worth the effort, then its clear that you doesn’t know how important that area is.

If you really want to look huge, you better start working out your back with the best program. There’s nothing like a well developed back to get that look and that’s because 70% of your upper body muscle mass resides in the back area.

There are 4 major movements that you must perform to properly develop your back. And here they are:

1) Deadlifts. I cannot possibly stress the importance of this lift enough. There is not a single exercise out there that can even come close to matching the effectiveness of a basic, bent-legged barbell deadlift. The deadlift will stimulate growth throughout the entire back complex and should be the cornerstone of your routine.

2) Vertical pulling movement. To get the most bang for your buck I recommend a basic overhand chin-up. This is the bread and butter of vertical pulling movements and will stimulate growth in the lats like no other exercise. Examples: v-bar pulldowns, chin-ups, lat pulldowns, etc.

3) Horizontal pulling movement. There are a ton of different rowing movements to choose from: bent over barbell rows, dumbbell rows, seated machine rows and cable rows just to name a few.

4) A shrugging movement. It may not be the most important part of the routine, but it also plays an important role to succed. A basic barbell or dumbbell shrug will be enough for this part.

So, all you have to do is to perform 2 sets of 5 to 7 reps of every single exercise i mentioned before. That will do the job.

It may not seem like a lot, but as long as you take every set to muscular failure and focus on quality rather than quantity, this routine provides more than enough stimulation for maximum back growth. I’ve used this same routine for many years and continue to see steady progress in both back size and strength.

If you want more routines for another parts of your body, don’t worry, I will write about them in future articles. Or, you can visit my website. There, you will find a lot of articles and information about muscle building and the most effective ways to train your body.

The Benefits of Strength Training

Thursday, June 4th, 2009
by USGSF Staff

Strength training is an important element of fitness and exercise. If you are trying to lose weight then it is essential that you incorporate some strength training activities into your routine. Losing weight is about burning calories. It is about burning fat and one way to do that is to build your muscles. Basically the more muscle you develop the more energy you burn, resulting in greater weight loss success.

Strength training does not have to be a daily grind of lifting weights in the gym. There are many classes or exercise programs you can follow that will help with building your muscles. Most gyms have classes like total body fitness or group power lifting. Typically these types of classes use many types of weight training equipment including barbells, hand weights and resistance bands. The typical class lasts for about an hour.

Over all it seems to be women seem to enjoy these types of strength training classes more than men. Men typically enjoy working out the muscle groups by adding bulk. Strength training classes help to shape and tone your muscles into lean mass without the bulk. In addition, since the instructor pushes you along during the class at a very rapid pace, there is a bit of cardiovascular benefit as well. If your goal is to have both strength training as well as muscle endurance, then you should consider a “cross fit” type class that can focus on both of those areas. Keep in mind that those types of classes not only build strength…but they melt away the love handles much faster.

So you do not care for classes. Thats ok, there are many exercises that you can do from home using just simple hand weights will do just fine, and there are many strength exercises that require no equipment like the simple pushup. Find a DVD to follow along to help you with your exercise. A good program to follow will help keep you on track, motivated and more likely to do the exercises correctly.

Many people go to the gym to lift weights. Typical regimens include alternating days of upper body work with lower body work. For example, on Monday and Thursday you might work your upper body, while on Tuesday and Friday you might work your lower body. This gives the muscles time to repair and grow between workouts. Most weight lifting programs involve lifting in sets. For instance you might do three sets of ten repetitions of the exercise of your choice that has a focus on the target are you wish to improve on.

Maintenance To Delay Treadmill Belt Replacement And Repairs

Monday, April 13th, 2009
by Chloe Adisson

Treadmills, just like other machines, need constant care and maintenance, too. The part that gets worn out and need replacement regularly is the treadmill belt. The degree of damage, however, may vary for home and commercial use.

For daily home use for example, the standard lifespan of your treadmill would be between 2 and 3 years. For serious runners, the treadmill’s life is shorter. So if you hope to make your treadmill’s lifespan a little longer, it is important to maintain it properly.

Basic maintenance tips:

- Treadmills need to be lubricated at least once a year. This is if its usage is only minimal, say 3 to 5 times a week and you’re only using it for walking and jogging.

- Lubricate your treadmill at shorter intervals if you’re a serious runner. Depending on the nature of your speed, distance, and inclination, the average maintenance should be every 6 months.

- Apply the appropriate lubricant. Every treadmill’s manufacturer has a specific lubricant. However, there are also those that don’t need any lubrication. Make sure to use the correct one or else, contact your dealer.

- Read the user’s manual. This is very important. Proper maintenance and treadmill belt replacement procedure is found in the treadmill’s manual for you to use. Take time to read it and understand.

Well-maintained equipment can save you a lot of trouble and a lot of money from repairs and replacements. In fact, maintenance is always an advantage as it prevents damages from happening soon. If ignored, you will find that a treadmill belt replacement can be very expensive.

Can you tell if your equipment is in top shape? Before a repair or a replacement or parts like the belt is decided, inspection is conducted. Below are some of the common and obvious things done in troubleshooting a treadmill.

- Belt and Deck Inspection – Centering and Tensioning Test – Belt Slip Test – Speed Test – Adjustments of the Belt

There are more. If you are not sure about how these things are done, it’s best to call the repair center or customer service to assist you. It may cost you a few bucks but it’s safer and reliable.

Not all repairs need replacement of parts, although a treadmill belt replacement is the common problem in problematic treadmill equipment. Here are some of examples below on repairs between those that need treadmill parts replacement and those that don’t.

Repair of your treadmill needs parts replaced when:

- The running board is broken – The console is faulty – The motor (heart of the treadmill) is the problem – Belt is faulty

Repair of your treadmill do not need parts replaced when:

- The belt is just slipping – The belt is not centered and tensioned properly – The treadmill only needs recalibration

Ask for a routine checkup from the service center. Familiarize the type of replacements and repairs too. This way, you will understand the complexity your treadmill’s problem better and perhaps delay the treadmill belt replacement even further.

Fitness Infos – Your Weight Loss Surgery Options

Sunday, April 12th, 2009
by Marius Hagen

Are you looking to lose weight? If you are, you likely already know that you have a number of different options. For instance, you can go about losing weight naturally, with the use of exercise and healthy eating. You can also lose weight with the assistance of weight loss products, like diet pills. Another option that you have is weight loss surgery. Although all of the previous weight loss methods are popular, weight loss surgery is rapidly increasing in popularity.

If you are interested in undergoing weight loss surgery, you are not alone. As previously mentioned, weight loss surgery is increasing in popularity. If you have never considered weight loss surgery before, you may be wondering what all of your options are. While there are a number of different weight loss surgical procedures that you can undergo, you will find that there are two main procedures. These procedures, which include gastric bypass surgery and lap-band surgery, are outlined below.

Gastric bypass surgery is a weight loss surgery that involves the stapling of the stomach. That is why this procedure is also commonly referred to as stomach stapling. When undergoing gastric bypass surgery, your surgeon will portion off some of your stomach, making a smaller pouch. Your intestine will then be rerouted, making it so that your food consumption only impacts a portion of your stomach. This is what makes it doable for you lose weight with gastric bypass surgery.

Although gastric bypass surgery is a great weight loss surgery to undergo, it isn?t right for everyone. Most physicians require their patients to be around eighty pounds or more overweight. In some rare instances, those who are less than eighty pounds overweight are able to undergo gastric bypass surgery if their health is at risk or if they have other medical problems, such as diabetes. As previously stated, lap-band surgery is another weight loss surgery that is increasing in popularity. Lap-band surgery is similar to gastric bypass surgery. When undergoing lap-band surgery, your stomach pouch is made smaller. One of the few differences is that your stomach is not stapled, but an adjustable band is used. That is one of the reasons why lap-band surgery is so popular, as the band used can be completely removed or easily adjusted.

Thousands of Americans have undergone these two weight loss surgeries. For many individuals, weight loss surgery is a last resort. Many who undergo weight loss surgery have not had success with losing weight any other way. If you are interested in undergoing a weight loss surgical procedure, you will want to speak with your physician.

One of the many reasons why it is important to speak with your doctor or another healthcare professional is because weight loss surgery isn?t right for everyone. In addition to being at the ?right,? weight, you also need to have the willpower to reduce your food consumption. If you take too much food, videlicet too much food for your stomach to hold, you can not only harm your weight loss progress, but you can also place your health at risk. That is why your weight loss surgery decision is not one that you can make alone; it is one that must be prefabricated in conjunction with a healthcare professional.

Fitness – Weight Loss Products: How to Spot a Scam

Saturday, April 11th, 2009
by Marius Hagen

Are you looking to lose weight? If you are, there is a good chance that you will start your own weight loss program. When many individuals start their own weight loss programs, they do so with the help of a number of weight loss products, like diet pills or exercise equipment. If you are interested in buying these types of weight loss products, you need to always be on the lookout of scams, as they do exist.

When it comes to weight loss products, like exercise equipment and diet pills, many people automatically wonder how they can tell if they are being scammed. Unfortunately, you often cannot tell by reading an advertisement in a magazine or online or by watching a television infomercial or even by looking at the weight loss product in question. The best way to determine if the weight loss product you are interested in buying is really worth your money is to do research first.

When it comes to researching weight loss products, there are a number of different ways that you can go about determining if the product or products you want to buy are worth the cost. One of the easiest ways to go about doing so is by visiting the online websites of retailers that allow their customers or the general public to rate or review their products. Many consumers like to alert others to a product that is a waste of money or even alert others to a product that is well worth the cost.

When reading weight loss product reviews, like product reviews for diet pills or exercise equipment, it is important to remember that no product is perfect. Even the best products, like the ones that come highly rated and recommended, will have a few bad reviews. What you need to be cautious of is any weight loss product that has more bad reviews than it does good reviews. This is a surefire sign that the weight loss product in question may not be worth your money.

You can also find product reviews or just specific weight loss products being discussed by performing a standard internet search. When performing a standard internet search, you will want your search phrase to be the name of the weight loss product in question. Your standard internet search may lead you to online message boards where weight loss and other health issues are being discussed. These types of websites and message boards are a great way to also learn about weight loss products that you may not have otherwise came across.

Another way that you can determine if you are being ?scammed,? by a weight loss product, is by examining the online website of the product distributor or manufacturer. When you buy a diet pill or another weight loss supplement, you should be provided with as much information as possible. Be cautious of any product whose website only claims to help you lose weight, but doesn?t explain how it is done. The same can be said for exercise equipment.

Another great way that you can determine if the weight loss products you are interested in buying are worth the money is by speaking with your doctor. Often times, you don?t even have to schedule a visit; a telephone call should get you the answers that you were looking for. Most doctors can let you know if a weight loss pill or supplement that you are interested in buying is worth the money. If they can?t tell you about the specific product in question, there is a good chance that they can at least review the ingredients with you. For exercise equipment, your physician may also be healthy to wage you with advice.

Of course, if you have the money to spend on weight loss products, you may be interested in going ahead and buying the product or products in question anyways. That is fine to do, but you also need to remember that many weight loss products, especially the ones featured on television infomercials are priced relatively high.

Fitness Infos – Weight Loss Pills: Should You Use Them

Thursday, April 9th, 2009
by Gregor Mahrer

Have you been trying to lose weight with the use of exercise and healthy eating? If you have, have you still been coming up short on your weight loss goal? If you have, you may be interested in seeking help through the use of weight loss products, namely weight loss pills. Although you may be thinking about giving weight loss pills a chance, you may be wondering if you should.

When it comes to determining whether or not weight loss pills are right for you, there are a number of different questions that you will want to ask yourself. These questions can help you truly determine if weight loss pills are right for you. A few of the many questions that you may want to ask yourself, concerning weight loss pills, are outlined below.

Losing weight ?naturally,? often involves exercise and healthy eating. Have you been exercising? Exercising can involve visiting your local fitness center, putting an exercise video in your DVD player, or something as simple as taking a nightly walk. Eating healthy involves cutting all sweets from your diet or at least significantly reducing them. If you haven?t taken these steps yet, you may want to first try losing weight naturally. If that doesn?t work, weight loss diet pills may be something for you to consider.

If you regularly find yourself eating more food than you should or more food than you need to, why do you think that you do so? Are you just eating because you are bored or does your body sense that you are hungry? This is important question that you need to answer, as many weight loss pills are designed to suppress your hunger. While this can help many individuals reduce the amount of food that they eat and the number of calories they take in, it will only help you if you think that your body is telling you that you are still hungry. If you are what is commonly referred to as a ?bored eater,? there is a good chance that you will still continue to eat.

Another question that you need to ask yourself is if you can afford the costs of weight loss pills. When examining the cost of weight loss pills, you will find that they are sold for a wide range of prices. Although it is important to make sure that you can afford the cost of weight loss pills, it is important that you do not comprise quality for costs. If you cannot afford the weight loss pills that come highly rated and recommend, you may just end up wasting your money on weight loss pills that may not necessarily work. That is why it is advised that you consult with your doctor or search for weight loss diet pill reviews online, before making any purchases.

The above mentioned questions are just a few of the many that you may want to ask yourself, before you automatically go out and buy weight loss pills for yourself. As a reminder, it is important that you do the proper amount of research before you buy weight loss pills, should you decide to do so. Weight loss diet pills are not all created equally; therefore, they have varying results.
