How To Lose Weight Without Dieting

Monday, August 24th, 2009
by Tammy Henderson

Diet is a popular term in our society. In reality, a diet is nothing more than temporarily reducing calorie intakes. The problem is that temporary diets produce temporary results. You can’t “diet” your entire life. It will destroy your body physiologically. There are things you can do, however, that will encourage permanent weight loss without dieting.

If you want to be successful in losing weight, you must change your attitude toward nutrition and exercise. Don’t think in terms of temporary diets. Begin to think in terms of lifelong habits that will improve your weight, health, and fitness. People go on fad diets all the time, but this habit does not work and may do more harm than good. It is important to consider nutrition and exercise so that you will experience permanent changes in weight.

Another important factor to weight loss is to maintain your muscle mass. Muscle mass is often underestimated in its importance in weight loss. Crash diets lead to fat loss, but muscle loss, as well. Muscle is important because it burns a lot of calories. Rapid weight loss includes muscle loss. This makes it even more difficult to lose weight and burn fat. The more muscle mass you have, the more calories you burn with each workout.

Most often, the problem with weight loss is that severe calorie reduction does not work. Severe calorie reduction is counterproductive to fat loss. Reducing too many calories, too fast throws your body into starvation mode. When your body perceives that it is being starved it will cling to fat. You will likely lose more muscle than fat, which in turn keys down your overall fat and calorie consumption. It is best to decrease your calorie intake slowly and reasonably, while at the same time increasing your health and fitness routine.

Remember, keep up your physical activity, and eat less calories than you spend per day. If you follow this simple mathematical equation, there is no way that you won’t be successful with weight loss. Also, keep in mind that you need to change your lifestyle if you cannot change your lifestyle in a permanent way, you will end up gaining weight again.

Exercise For Love Handles – Side Bends Rarely Work

Saturday, July 25th, 2009
by Ron G Smith

There are many web sites and articles out there that promise to reveal how to shed excess fat from your love handles. The fact is most of it’s crap. It’s usually geared to selling you some pills or equipment.

The side bend is the usual suspect in the exercise for love handle category. You hold something above your head, usually a broom handle or stick and then lean or bend left, then right. Then repeat, repeatedly. Get real! Of course, they rarely work.

They rarely work because you are trying to target just one small area. This is very difficult if not impossible. You’ll get a lot of know it alls telling you they do indeed work. Of course they work, but only when they are part of a complete system. Not just targeting one area.

Doing side bends as part of an all round workout will definitely get you success. If your workout is also part of an all round system you could double your results. It’s a simple fact. Burn more energy than you consume to lose fat.

To consume energy simply means to eat food. To burn energy off you simply have to do something that is active. Exercise usually. Any form of activity will burn energy off. This is basically what exercise is.

This could be walking, swimming, running, weightlifting or even sex. The last one sounds good to me! Any form of exercise is better than no form of exercise. This is the reason people get fat. They eat calorie laden food and do little or no exercise.

Doing exercise for love handles will not work unless you have an all round workout. I’m a naturally lazy person so I tend to go swimming a lot. It’s a great non impact all round exercise. If you can get to a swimming pool you should. It’s gentle and has great benefits for you.

I hate jogging and see no benefit in killing your knees every day. You may need them in later life! The guy who popularised jogging actually died while out jogging in a park somewhere. Ironically discovered by two smokers walking past.

If you are serious about your shape then you need to get yourself an all round system to follow. Not a fancy new “diet” which will not work, but a workable system that has been proven to work and is gentle enough not to put you off. Check out (probably) the best five systems that are out there at this site …

How To Gain Lean Muscle – A Beginner’s Guide

Thursday, July 16th, 2009
by Jack Thomson

Anybody who cares about his or her looks must be looking for ways on how to gain lean muscle without the fat. Indeed who does not want to know the secrets to how lean muscles are gained? If you have been doing a research on this topic, by and large you must know that your attitude and your diet play very important roles.

Indeed, there’s nothing like a positive look at things if you want to get what you want. Don’t entertain negative thoughts; otherwise, you will lose your motivation to proceed. When in doubt, don’t proceed because you will not get anywhere anyway.

If you no longer have a problem with how you look at things, you must now work on your diet. Yes, the kinds of food you eat have a lot to say on your general physique. As much as possible, cut back on foods that have a lot of fat, grease and sugar. Eat several times a day of meals comprising 50% starchy carbohydrates, 35% protein and 15% healthy fat. Eating frequent small meals improves metabolism, which helps you burn fat a lot faster.

In order to gain lean muscles, you must burn calories through cardio workouts. You can brisk walk, go biking, take a plunge in the pool, jog, hike, or do anything you wish to do. The important thing is that you get yourself moving and your heart pumping.

You need to look for a good weight training program to join. You don’t have to spend a fortune on weight training equipment. Actually, even if you have just a few sets of dumbbells, weight training can tone and firm up your muscles so long as you do it correctly and consistently.

As you can see, gaining lean muscles only requires that you dedicate your time and effort. To be honest about it, it may take some time before you can actually witness visible results. So be patient enough to wait for that moment because it will come.

Nonetheless, when you feel like giving up, do something about it. Don’t just sit there and do nothing. Change your routine, for instance. Go to a different gym, brisk walk instead of run, get yourself a new set of exercise suit, and so on. A different look, a different feel may be all you need to recover your joie de vivre, so to speak. It is also a good idea to do these exercises with your best friend. In most cases, having someone around can motivate you to pursue your dream.

I know there’s no easy road to getting your dream body, but at least there’s plenty of help around. Find out some more truths on how to gain lean muscle on my site.

Calorie Shifting – Exercise with Calorie Shifting

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009
by Judson Lassiter

Sometimes when something is simple it is hard to believe it works. Like the old adages, drink more water, or eat less, get more exercise or use less stuff. But each of these has its merits and so does calorie shifting. Yes, even for calorie shifting for vegetarians is possible.

In order to lose weight you must work with the basic ways your body functions. Since your body adapts to your reduction in caloric input you need something different to get your body back into the mode of losing weight. By following the calorie shifting diet plan you can get past this and resume your weight loss program. You undertake calorie shifting for eleven days and then take a three day break.

The calorie shifting plan has an 11 day cycle that prescribes what food types you will eat and in what sequence. That is interesting. During this entire time you can eat as much as you want. It does not matter whether you are a vegetarian or whether you exercise or not.

For example one day might be all carbohydrates, so pasta lovers delight in this. But the next day might be only and all proteins. The meat lovers are happy but it is a bit of a challenge for the strict vegetarians, but not impossible.

You spend 11 days with a carefully prescribed cycle of food types and then you have a 3 day break when you can eat anything you want and in any combination. At first you wonder won’t that defeat the purpose of the previous cycle? The answer is no. It actually supports the fat loss process. It is more than just a psychological break, it is a biochemical message inside your body at a molecular level. That is the short answer of how and why the Calorie Shifting dite plan works. Fat loss is the outcome.

When you dedicate 11 days to the Calorie Shifting menu and then follow it with the prescribed 3 day break you will notice the proven fat loss claims for yourself. That explains the popularity of the calorie shifting plan. Remember exercise is still important to maintain muscle tone and cardiovascular fitness.

Whether or not you think it is possible does not matter because you are operating at a molecular level. The really special part of the calorie shifting plan is that it works whether or not you believe in it. Of course a positive mindset always helps with these kinds of behavioral changes too.

Without a positive mindset about calorie shifting your willpower may be stretched when your buddies try to get you to join them for pizza and a beer after work. Continue your 11 day calorie shifting menu and go get some exercise to get fit or maintain your heart health. Just tell them to wait for your 3 day break when you can eat what you want.

Exercise For Love Handles – What’s The Best One?

Saturday, June 27th, 2009
by Ron G Smith

What are love handles? And what can you do to banish them forever?

Love handles appear at our waists, at each side like little handles. How cute…not! They are really muscles, called oblique’s.

Some people know them as middle age spread but that name conjures up a worse image than love handles!

Can you banish them with the right exercise? You can, but it isn’t easy. If you were to only exercise for them and nothing else you wouldn’t get far.

If you find an exercise for love handles and do lots of it and neglect any other parts you will get nowhere fast. It has to be an all round fitness system or nothing at all.

An all round system doesn’t have to be tiny little meals and hours at the gym. With a decent system to educate you and then to hold your hand throughout you will achieve your weight goals without too much hard work.

I’m (like most people) a lazy person at heart. I’m at a point now where I need only do a few little maintenance exercise routines.

It’s so important knowing what to do and what not to do. It’s even more important knowing why, and this is the key to getting it right.

You see a burger, you want it. Knowing what it will do to you makes the decision much easier.

If it’s easier to make a decision on the burger, it’s easier to actually say no. I know this ’cause I could never say no at one time. Now I rarely say yes.

Having said that, there’s nothing like a decent sized burger loaded with extras. But the range of foods available to us that are as tasty and not harmful is immense. You just gotta know what they are.

One of my exercises for love handles is simple side bends. I stand upright with my arms raised high and bend from side to side. Simple as that.

I rarely do more than a handful of these as my overall regime keeps me in pretty decent shape that I don’t need to target specific areas.

I get to eat as much as I want and I get to exercise as little as I want. I create my individual meal plans with an online diet generator.

I don’t stress over what I’m going to eat. Is it good, is it bad, is it too much, too little? Click a few buttons with my mouse and I’m good to go. Try it, you’ll love it.

If You Can’t Lose Weight – You Need A Step By Step System

Sunday, June 21st, 2009
by Ron G Smith

If you’ve been struggling with your weight for some time, you might believe right now that you simply can’t lose weight.

I can tell you now that’s not physically possible. Everybody can lose weight. You just haven’t found the right system for you just yet.

I used to just assume I couldn’t lose weight. Then mother nature gave me a kick up the backside and forced me to think differently.

I was always around fifteen pounds overweight and at twenty seven I was hit with type two diabetes. It was like being hit by a train.

I don’t know the how’s and why’s of it all but I do know it prompted me to do something with my weight.

I love systems. Systems make things easier by breaking them down into manageable tasks. I thought weight loss shouldn’t be any different.

A system is merely a set of rules you follow that should always bring you to the same end result. In your case here, getting your desired body.

Systems are used successfully in all walks of life. In fact the modern world is built on systems. So why not borrow these ideas to lose weight?

I’ll admit now that I spent thousands on crap dieting products only to end up back where I started a few months later. I hope by showing you my path to success I can save you wasting the same money.

I eventually discovered a system that works great for me. I can plan my day, then simply follow the daily steps and know I’m on the right track.

I can use a computer generated meal planner that I know will allow me to eat decent food and best of all, decent size portions. No hassle and no hunger.

When I planned my meals I used to stress over what I should and shouldn’t be eating. Now, I generate a full menu with the computer and print it out. Couldn’t be simpler.

Still thinking you can’t lose weight? You will lose that stubborn flab with a system that holds your hand all the way. It’s guaranteed to do so.

Those Who Think They Can’t Lose Weight, Think Again

Friday, June 19th, 2009
by Ron G Smith

Can’t lose weight? Or think you can’t lose weight, then maybe you need to re-evaluate your thinking on this. Everyone should be able to lose weight. It’s not impossible.

I was convinced I would eternally be overweight, that I simply can’t lose weight. How wrong I was!

I went for years just yo-yoing up and down with my weight. Mostly up but some downs. I was all of a sudden diagnosed with diabetes.

I wondered if my being fat was the cause but I think I’ll never know the reason. I’ll tell you though it really scared me.

27 years old and diabetic. But worse in my eyes was I had what was termed “age onset diabetes”, what older people get.

I knew the time was right for positive action. Time to really lose weight, no more talking, just doing. I view on life had to change.

Like most “fatties” I tried all sorts of diets and gizmos. Some of the stuff was sickeningly expensive and turned out to be next to useless. I shudder at how much money I’ve thrown away.

What I found was a step by step system that allows me to plan my day and my meals. I can plan meals of a decent size that aren’t going to leave me hungry.

My system has an online diet generator that really takes the stress out of planning my meals. What’s worse than trying to work out just what you can and can’t eat safely?

I was a sucker for eating any leftovers my kids didn’t eat. I actually thought that it was wasteful to throw it in the garbage. Now I have a totally different mindset and we rarely cook more than we can eat.

If you are like I was and believe you can’t lose weight then it’s time you started to change your way of thinking. We can all lose weight if we just stop believing we can’t lose weight.

Make the decision and you will not regret it. In the future you can look back and probably be embarrassed at how you believed you can’t lose weight.

I’m a bit OCD and like to have everything I do put into systems. I like to follow lists of instructions knowing that at the end I’ll get the result I expect. It’s no different with my weight loss and it could be the same for you.

I’ve reviewed some of the stuff I’ve tried including my fav system on my web page. If you think you can’t lose weight, check it out and be prepared to be proven wrong. Are you up for a challenge?
