The Day Off Diet: Burn Stomach Fat

Saturday, April 25th, 2009
by Janice Jenkins

Have you ever heard the saying “six packs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym” if so then I want to let you know that saying is absolutely true.

This is why my #1 recommendation for losing belly fat is to start The Day Off Diet. This is the best diet for boosting your metabolism which in turn makes it the best diet for burning fat fast which of course makes it the best diet for losing belly fat.

The truth is there’s no exercise which you can do which will pinpoint the excess fat your stomach region. If you do have excess fat in your belly it’s because your overall body fat percentage is too high.

The Day Off Diet program includes two major mechanisms for lowering the body’s overall fat percentage: The metabolism boosting feature of the diet itself and the free strength training guide that the program includes.

If you are confused as to why a strength training guide can help you to burn fat then I do understand that confusion, it’s something that is sadly not understood by very many people which is why so many waste their time doing sit-ups instead of doing much more effective strength training.

The element that makes strength training so effective at helping to to get rid of your belly fat is that each additional pound of muscle that you add to your body burns an extra 50 calories a day even if your body is at rest.

Your genetic makeup is the cause of why you hold your excess fat in your stomach. What that really means is that no matter what that’s going to be the last place you keep your fat. That’s why the only way to get rid of that fat is to lower your body’s overall body fat percentage. And that’s why those silly ab exercises you see advertised on TV are such a huge waste of time.

The Day Off Diet program is what you need to overcome your genetics and to finally burn that fat off your stomach because it combines the power of it’s metabolism boosting diet plan and it’s muscle building strength training plan to lower your body’s overall body fat percentage until the point where your body has no choice but to let go of your belly fat once and for all!

Natural Remedies for Menopause and Weight Loss

Friday, February 20th, 2009
by Ricardo d Argence

Menopause is a challenging time of transition from the reproductive years to the post-childbearing years for many women. A woman’s body stops causing egg follicles to mature every month and female hormones naturally decline when menopause occurs.

Unfortunately, menopause can be difficult for some women because of its often uncomfortable symptoms. These can include hot flashes, insomnia, night sweats, mood swings, vaginal dryness, loss of interest in sex, and irritability. Unexpected weight gain is another frequent consequence of menopause.

Occasionally, females who put on weight in menopause haven’t altered their diet or workout regimen. This can be frustrating, prompting women to wonder what caused this sudden and unexpected weight gain. In other instances, increased weight is caused by eating to excess that is stimulated by hormones. Another cause of weight gain is the natural metabolic slow-down that happens as people age. This more sluggish metabolic rate signifies that extra calories or a diet that lacks balance will produce a much bigger impact on females in menopause.

Estrogen and body fat work together in a unique way. Body fat helps regulate the production of estrogen, which declines dramatically in menopause. Sometimes, the body will fight to hold on to fat in an effort to stabilize estrogen levels. Hormones and the fat in body is linked together in complex which affect in gaining weight through changes in appetite, digestion, and metabolism.

Try using a more natural antidote to increased weight and other the negative symptoms of menopause, instead of turning to hormone therapy that is now linked to problems such as breast and reproductive cancers. Some of these remedies include black cohosh and sage, to regulate hot flashes; St. John’s Wort, a natural anti-depressant and stress alleviator; and chasteberry, for moodiness and general hormonal imbalance.

Many women make the mistake of thinking that these remedies will prevent weight gain and other menopause symptoms on their own. The truth is, the best thing you can do to prevent or reverse weight gain in menopause is through healthy diet and exercise.

Eating a healthy, balanced diet rich in whole-foods is more effective approach than using herbal remedies. There are many herbal remedies available to alleviate menopausal symptoms. However, many women find that healthy eating and exercise are enough, and they do not need to waste their money on such products.

A healthy, balanced diet means eating heart-healthy fats and avoiding bad fats. Whole grains, fruits, and vegetables should form the bulk of the diet, supplemented by lean protein and dairy foods (or non-dairy foods that contain calcium). Obviously, you should generally avoid fats and fried food, too much sugar, and junk foods, and additionally you should stay away from foods that contain excess liquor, spices, and caffeine if you find that these complicate menopause symptoms for you.

Add eight glasses of water per day and about half-hour of exercise as many days per week as possible, and you could be on your way to significant weight loss, even in the face of the hormonal hurdles of menopause. You’re also likely to see an improvement in other menopause symptoms as a healthy diet and exercise program begins to stabilize hormone levels.

by Ricardo d Argence

During and after the pregnancy, weight gain is common and something most women dislike. Putting on pregnancy pounds is absolutely necessary for the embryo to get the appropriate vitamins and minerals for healthy growth.

In years past weight gain was considered detrimental for the pregnant woman, but now it is accepted as a normal part of embryo development. Actually, the huge problem of pregnant women is, how much should they ideally put on weight while they are pregnant.

Some exercise and a proper diet is extremely important for the mother and her child. The weight gained during pregnancy is distributed throughout a woman’s body; most of it is the baby, some the placenta, some to the breasts (for milk production), and some as extra fluids needed during pregnancy.

A good natural weight limit to set for pregnant women would be a minimum of 15 lbs for overweight women who become pregnant. For skinny women who become pregnant, if they gained 45 or 50 lbs it is still considered a good weight.

Usually with the help of a ultra sound some women find out they are going to have more than one baby. Because both embryo’s need nutrition, it is natural for the pregnant woman to gain even more weight. Women who tend to maintain their weight usually have problems with the development of the embryo, which in turn can cause problems for the newborn baby and possibly make them quite sickly.

300 calories a day is what a pregnant woman should consume. Junk foods are not really good for pregnant women. Mothers who will be expecting children will most likely see some gain in their weight when pregnancy begins, yet they possibly will not experience a significant amount of weight gain until in a later stage.

Definitely not a good idea is losing weight when you gain too much weight. To help avoid futuristic problems for the baby you should refrain from consuming salt while you are pregnant.

Women that are obese tend to have higher blood pressure ratings, gestational diabetes, and other issue while they are pregnant. They also increase the chances of having a miscarriage.

Does Wu Yi Tea Really Work To Promote Weight Loss?

Sunday, February 15th, 2009
by Halvor Owen

You’ve probably been hearing a lot as of late about Wu Yi tea; especially it’s potential to help people lose weight. But does Wu Yi tea really work to produce weight loss? In this article, we’ll take a closer look at this very popular type of tea and the claims made regarding drinking Wu Yi tea for weight loss.

Happily, the answer to this question is yes. When you drink Wu Yi tea regularly, it can help you to lose weight – but it needs to be combined with a good diet and regular exercise to produce the best effect. You have to remember that Wu Yi tea is not some kind of panacea for weight loss (and if someone tries to tell you that Wu Yi tea really works to make you thinner in three days or some similar wild claim, they aren’t being straight with you). However, Wu Yi tea can give you the edge you need to take your weight loss efforts to the next level and better yet, keep those extra pounds off.

So how does Wu Yi tea work to help dieters get towards their weight loss and fitness goals? First, let’s learn a little about this tea and where it comes from. All tea (except for herbal teas) come from the same plant, the Camellia Sinensis plant. The difference between different types of tea has to do with where it was grown and how the tea is processed after being picked. Wu Yi tea is actually a type of Oolong tea which gets its name from where it is grown – on and near Mount Wu Yi in southern China. It is thought that the rich soils of this region contribute to the high mineral content of this tea.

It is the soil in which this tea is grown as well as the drying and fermentation Wu Yi tea undergoes which make it so special. All tea contains compounds known as polyphenols which are believed to be responsible for the weight loss properties of the tea. The processing of Wu Yi tea leaves its polyphenol content intact – meaning that this tea has more polyphenols than any other type of tea available.

Like all teas, Wu Yi tea contains a small amount of caffeine, which does increase your metabolism a little bit (which helps you to burn off calories faster) – but Wu Yi tea works much better at increasing metabolic rate than can be accounted for by the caffeine content of the tea. So why does Wu Yi tea work to increase metabolism? That’s right: polyphenols.

A study conducted at a Japanese medical school measured the energy expenditure of subjects (measured in calories) after drinking either water, green tea or oolong tea (like Wu Yi tea). The subjects in this study who drank oolong tea burned off 10% more calories than those who drank only water – the rate of energy expenditure was even higher in the first hour or so after drinking the tea. You may want to have a cup of Wu Yi before your next workout to increase the number of calories burned!

There have been a number of different clinical studies on How Wu Yi tea works to promote weight loss in universities and institutes all over the US, Asia and Europe; all of them have found that Wu Yi tea really works to help people lose extra weight and keep it off.

So why is it that Wu Yi tea works to help you lose weight? We already know that it is the polyphenol content which is responsible, but why is it that these polyphenols make drinking Wu Yi tea work to eliminate those excess pounds?

As it happens, polyphenols signal your body to start producing enzymes which break down energy stored as fat – this process is called lipolysis. Wu Yi tea works because it used your body’s own natural fat burning processes to help you lose weight – all without the harmful side effects of the chemically produced diet pills on the market. If youve been in search of a safe, natural way to lose weight or to maintain a healthy weight, Wu Yi tea is an excellent choice. Wu Yi tea really works to help you lose weight ” it wont happen overnight, but anything worth having is worth waiting for; and since this tea is so delicious, youll want to drink it every day.
