We all know that the best ways to lose weight all involve some form of exercising. But knowing this is true doesn’t make it any easier to get started on and maintain an exercise regimen. So, do YOU dread exercising? Here are some pointers that will help.

Particularly at first, we all hate exercising, but that changes. Before you know it, you start looking forward to your workouts! You start feeling like something is wrong or missing if you skip a day. You can stop giggling now. It happens, (yes, even to you).

Like anything else, the challenge is in the beginning. We understand we have to do it, so we plow through our daily regimen. At least we do for a little while, most end up quitting in frustration after about a month. They never realize how close they were to a – learning to love exercise – breakthrough. Once you learn to look forward to your daily exercise routine, weight loss is not much of an issue. It will usually just go away with only minor dieting effort.

If your snooze alarm gets more of a workout than you do, simply because you can’t face another day of mindless sit-ups, leg lifts or endless miles around the track, hang in there! Have hope!

Crunches may strengthen the core, but there’s other ways too. Did you ever stop to realize that swimming is every bit as good an aerobic exercise as jogging? Most people think it’s better, and not as hard on the joints! Try dancing! Get some cd’s and dance your heart out in the privacy of your own home. Get a bicycle and tour your community. It’s fun and you’ll get a little sun too. The point is, that for every dreaded, mind numbing exercise you do, there is a fun alternative. Now that you are in shape and like working out, they won’t seem so bad any longer.

You can even use your workout as a home beautification project! Park the power mower and buy a push mower. Make it a personal challenge to mow the lawn faster every week. Vigorously rake the grass and all those leaves – dump the blower. Try to work in some heavy lifting gardening.

Do you live where it gets cold? Why suffer another jog when sledding and ice skating with friends is such a good workout – and fun too! (Beware of the dreaded after skating hot chocolate.) The new Wii games can give you an aerobic tennis or dance workout. You could even entice the kids to get off the couch and join in! Just be sure they think it’s a game and not that you’ve gotten them to turn off the tv and exercise.

Get a partner! A workout buddy can help immensely. We all need a little extra motivation from time to time and a gentle push from our friends can get us over the hump. As you each get in better and better shape, you can graduate from tennis on the Wii to an actual tennis court. In this case, being a bad player is a bonus! You’d be running all over chasing tennis balls. You can each set personal goals and challenges and you could make it a competition.

Once you get back in the gym, talk to a trainer. They can help you design an effective yet safe program. Plus, keeping you motivated and on track is their whole reason for being there. Your trainer is an expert at helping you get past the hurdles of feeling boredom, injury and getting overwhelmed. Use them.

Don’t do it alone, take some exercise classes. Most gyms offer them at a very reasonable rate or even free with membership. Who knows, maybe the best friend you will ever have is taking a class right now. Classes help with motivation, you learn new exercises and you’ll get to meet your new best friend! You can achieve easy weight loss in just three days with the 3-day Cardiac Diet. Some call it The Birmingham Hospital Diet. It was supposedly designed in that clinic to help patients lose weight quickly before undergoing heart surgery.

Like the popular Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic Diets, this program also calls for meals that are generally high on protein and low on carbohydrates. These different diets are all variations on this theme, but their sole purpose is to make you lose weight fast.

You should note, however, the hospitals do not officially endorse these 3-day diets for the public. Still, many do claim to have tried these diets and they say they work.

The 3-Day cardiac diet limits calories by using a high protein, high fiber, low carbohydrate meal plan. On the three days you are on the program you will be eating mostly vegetables and lean meat. It is still quite nutritious actually, except for the elimination of carbohydrates from foods like bread and rice.

Make sure you do not go beyond the Cardiac Diet’s 3-day limit. You will eventually need to put those carbs back into your meals. The 3-day plan is also stringently low on calories so it is bad for your health to continue longer on such little food intake.

For breakfast on each of the three days, the focus is getting ample protein along with some fats. The usual meal consists of about half a cup of water-packed tuna or cottage cheese. Add to this two eggs cooked in your preferred style – but without any added cheese or dairy.

This gives you a good mix of protein and fat, which are important for keeping hunger down and giving you the materials you need to keep your muscles strong. Under no circumstances should you skip breakfast or not eat the full amount. You may have coffee or tea with it, but make sure not to use sweeteners or any dairy products.

Lunch will be a mixture of tuna and salad. On the first two days, you may have a half a cup of water packed tuna, and a generous serving of salad. Keep in mind, though, that the salad must be all vegetables – no cheese or croutons. Make sure to use olive oil as your dressing, and you can indulge a bit with the olive oil since you need the good fats for proper metabolism. On the third day, you may increase your protein in the form of tuna – to a full cup.

Dinner on the 3-day cardiac diet will consist of your preferred kind of lean meat. But skip adding sauce or breading. You need to eat this with two different types of vegetables, steamed and without sauce. You are, however, encouraged to use some butter for flavoring.

Bread, pasta, potatoes or any other starches are not allowed on the 3-day Cardiac Diet. This was specially formulated to have a high protein, high fiber and low carb content so you can lose weight fast.

Remember to drink at least 64 ounces of water each day, while on the diet. Do not cheat – it is only three days before you get the weight loss you are working for.

Stick to the 3-day cardiac-diet and you will lose weight. To keep the pounds off, make sure you follow through with a sensible, long term eating plan supported by regular exercise.

For an easy solution to the problem, try this. Set aside a couple of hours, schedule them if you must, and plan your dinner menus for each day of the coming week. If you can work up the ambition, go for two weeks.

Put each daily menu on its own separate piece of paper and put them all into a three ring binder. You could separate the days with multicolored tabs if you want to really get fancy. Eventually you may even want to laminate the pages.

Now, here’s the important part. Each evening when you get home, open your binder to that day’s menu and make it. We want to make this a habit, so never deviate under any circumstances.

You will totally stop the impulse buying from the local fast food place, save a lot of money, and never have to worry about what to fix for dinner.

It may seem overly simple, but it works and it will save you quite a bit of money too!

If you were to hire a personal chef and gave them the task of fixing tasty, nutritious, low calorie, healthy meals, you wouldn’t question it, you would just eat the meals. Think of your weekly meal plan as being prepared by your personal healthy eating chef. Don’t change it during the week, just fix that meal every day.

The funny thing is, although it may seem as a chore now, eventually it will become a habit and you will truly love your little binder.

Think of it, if you plan all of your meals to be nutritious, low-calorie and healthy ones, eventually your health must improve. It has to, it’s a scientific fact.

Now, at the end of the week, do it again! Come up with seven NEW meal plans. By the end of the first month (4 weeks), you will have 28 all different recipes that you can call on.

Do this for one month, and you will have a full four weeks worth of meals that are all different. This will help you maintain your diet because you won’t get tired of eating the same things over and over again. Once you’ve gotten to this stage, you can just rotate the meals in your binder rather than going through the planning session every week.

This will save you a bundle at the grocery store, and is one of the best healthy eating facts out there.
